Timing Machines

Timing machines are used by watchmakers to analyze the performance of watch movements. The machines use an acoustic sensor to pick out key events in the motion of the balance wheel and escapement and compare this data to a high frequency time base, in order to determine the rate of timekeeping of the watch movement in various positions.
