The loupe is one of the most important tools of a watchmaker. There exist several different models and types of loupes. The one pictured right is one of the most commonly used among watchmakers. It is important to choose the right power and focal distance for the work being undertaken when selecting a loupe. The loupe aids the eye in focusing at a close distance for long periods without strain.
