Glossary/German Silver

German Silver

A metal alloy composed of nickel, copper, and often, but not always, zinc. It is named for its silvery appearance, and contains no elemental silver.

Other names for this alloy that have been used in watchmaking are German Silver, Nickel Silver, Silverine, and Silveroid.
