Astronomical Clock
An astronomical clock is a clock with astronomical indications, such as sidereal time and the movements of the Earth, Moon, and planets, on dials or by models. Many of the earliest mechanical clocks were astronomical.
Famous makers of astronomical clocks were Dondi (who designed the first), Burgi, the Habrecht brothers, the Raingo brothers, and Janvier. globe clocks, Orreries and the Strasbourg Clock are examples of astronomical clocks. Other astronomical clocks, made in England, are one in York Cathedral, another in the Financial Times building on Cannon Street in London, and a replica of Dondi's Clock.
