Glossary/Age of the Moon
Age of the Moon
The age of the moon refers to any point in time between two successive new moons. The time between two new moons is approximately 29½ days, which is equal to the amount of time it takes for the moon to circle the Earth one time (one lunar revolution).
The age of the moon is sometimes indicated on the dial of watch or clock, by a hand indicating on a subdial of 29½ divisions.
